Welcome
We are located in gorgeous Fort Myers, Florida - the city of towering palm trees, and the former winter home of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. Senior Pastor Dan Betzer and his beautiful wife Darlene would love to have you visit our church, and they encourage you to fill out a Connect card so we can keep in touch. First Assembly's mission is to "Reach, Teach & Send" everyone we can. We take Christ's mandate very seriously, and how God has honored us for it! God has abundantly blessed First Assembly, and we are so grateful for all that He has done! Missions is the heartbeat of First Assembly; our desire is to spread the gospel to everyone in every place, and we accomplish that by giving, praying and going. Feel free to contact us by email at [email protected] or by phone at 239-936-6277 at any time. May God bless you!
Our History
In 1947 a group of believers, who were meeting in a tent, became organized into an Assemblies of God church. This small congregation purchased property and constructed a church at 1943 Fowler Street. In 1969, the church purchased five acres at 1550 Colonial Blvd. and built a beautiful new facility. The first service was held there on Easter Sunday 1972. A few years later, twenty-plus additional acres were added, and the gymnasium was built and became a temporary sanctuary until the current sanctuary was completed in the fall of 1982. God has abundantly blessed First Assembly of God in Fort Myers, and we now average 6,000 members and adherents throughout our campuses every Sunday morning.
